Please note that section activity rules, e.g. sleepovers, still apply to each section. A Cub aged 7.75 years may attend a Cub camp for its full duration but a Beaver Scout of the same age is limited to the existing duration for Beaver Sleepovers. Please note that the core age ranges remain at 6 to 8 yrs for Beavers and 8 to 10.5 yrs for Cubs. In order to prevent any anomalies arising from this flexibility of ages, I suggest that we try to adhere to these core age ranges wherever possible.
BADGE RECORDS We need to record details of certain key badges so that our Badge Secretaries can submit these to County to support their application for Grants that enable them to continue to provide many of their functions for the Districts. Our Badge Secretary needs the name and address and Scout Group of all young people gaining any Chief Scouts and Queen’s Award, including the Bronze and Silver CSA. These badges will NOT be issued without this information. All Staged Badges will require the young person’s names and Scout Groups for each Staged Badge. All Challenges, Activity and all other badges just require the name of the badge and the number awarded by each Scout Group. As many section leaders hold stocks of various badges, please inform our Badge Secretary when these have been issued and give the appropriate details as specified above. Similarly, all leaders are asked to check their records going back to the April 2008 and submit the appropriate details to their Badge Secretary within the next 6 weeks. CENSUS FORMS AND THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS The Census Forms will be issued during December and Groups should be aware of the need to complete their Membership Details and pay the appropriate Membership Subscriptions by the end of January 2009. Details of the Subscriptions will be sent to Group Scout Leaders in the next couple of weeks. It will be appreciated if Groups will begin to bring their records up to date so that this essential process can be completed on time.
